School's OUT!!!!

Another year is finished! Cooper will be a 7th grader in JUNIOR HIGH, and Amelia will be a sophomore in HIGH SCHOOL! I'm having a moment of denial with how fast they are growing up. Both kiddos passed their classes with high grades and amazing GPAs!

Summer isn't too relaxing though, Cooper will be doing summer track and guitar lessons. Amelia still has driver's ed, ballet, girls camp, and violin lessons. Here's a picture of our last day of school:

Per tradition, we begin and end each school year with dinner at Pizza Pie cafe. It's getting pricey now, though, since they both qualify as adults now!

Summer of 2019 is gonna be great!

May Events!

May went by as quickly as January didn't! As much as I hate summer, I'm excited to have some time off school. Here's a few things we did:

Cooper had his ballroom recital and did really well! I don't know that he'll continue, but he enjoyed the classes. The entire time he was dancing he had his mouth set in concentration. He does the same when he plays the guitar. :-) He did a fantastic job!

The VERY next Saturday we had Amelia's final recital. She was AMAZING! I can't believe how much she has improved over this last year. She had a hard time saying good-bye to some of the seniors. She'd become really close to a few of them and really looked up to them.

We also had Amelia's final orchestra performance. Her playing was fantastic! Here's a few pics with her friends:

Lastly (for now) we got Amelia's driver's permit! She'll start driver's ed right after school is out. I'm equally scared and excited.

Finishing up April!

Now that Amelia is a whopping 15, I decided she should probably have her own checking account and debit card. It'll come in handy when she starts going on all those orchestra trips. :-) So we went to the credit union and opened her an account. We had a loooong discussion about proper use of her card, and I made sure she realized the money doesn't just show up in her account.  To celebrate, she used her card for the first time to buy herself lunch from Cafe Rio.

Cooper had his last choir concert this week. He did a great job playing the xylophone, guitar, and singing his solo. It was a little bittersweet--he'll be heading to the junior high next year! Gulp.
Here are some pictures:

Next up: ALLLLLLL the many end-of-school-year activities, concerts, and celebrations!
